Carey organizes the text by introducing the main person he followed and then by stating what a for-profit school is. He then states what is wrong with for-profit schools. Carey states fact after menacing fact about for-profit schools. He states that they account for 25% of student loans in the U.S. but only enroll 10% of the students in college. Carey organizes his paper this way to explain to the reader what a for-profit school is, how they work, and what is wrong with them.
Carey uses persuasion to move the reader over to his side. He is able to use this strategy because of all the examples and facts he has supporting his beliefs. He would introduce different techniques used by the for-profit schools and then provide an example displaying what is wrong with that technique.
In paragraphs 14 and 15 Carey uses persuasive language to show for-profit colleges avoid talking about default rates and how they turn the subject onto regional accreditation.
